Details of my Gastrononic Adventures
A passion for all food and drink, ranging from the streetside chachantengs and daipaidongs
of Hong Kong to the fine-dining establishments of award winning
restaurants worldwide, has led me to create a blog detailing my meals
worthy of a mention.
Some that enjoy the exclusive haute cuisine of luxury restaurants
shun the sometimes unhygenic and almost always delicious fried meals
served by hawkers through pure snobbery, whilst those who are only
limited to streetside food for financial reasons do not experience the
exquisite taste and texture of caviar melting in the mouth. As someone
who has been lucky enough to have it all, I’ll attempt to write about
experiences from both ends of the culinary spectrum.
The blog will mostly contain new material as I continue my
gastronomic adventures in Hong Kong and occassionally on travel,
although it may also contain memorable blasts from the past - certain
meals one just cannot forget. It will be made clear which is which.
I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing (and eating and drinking!)

| Pink Floyd - High Hopes
Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young In a world of magnets and miracles Our troughts strayed constandly and without boundary The ringing of the division bell had begin
Along the long road and on down the causeway Do they still meet there by the cut
There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps Running before time took our dreams away Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground To a life consumed by slow decay
The grass was greener The light was brighter With friends surrounded The night of wonder
Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again Dragged by the force of some inner tide
At a higher altitude with flag unfuried We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world
Eneumbered forever by desire and ambition Theres a hunger still unsatisfied Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon Though down this road weve been so many time
The grass was greener The light was brighter The taste was sweeter The nights of wonder With friends surrounded The dawn mist glowing The water flowing The endless river
Forever and ever | | |

The Doors - Light My Fire
You know that it would be untrue
You know that i would be a liar
If i was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
Time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
Aouh, come on!
Come on, babe!
Yeah! come on!
Come on!
Woaouh! yeah!
It was the greatest night of my life.
Although i still had not found a wife
I had my friends
Right there beside me.
We were close together.
We tripped the wall, we scaled the graveyard
Ancient shapes were all around us.
The wet dew felt fresh beside the fog.
Two made love in an ancient spot
One chased a rabbit into the dark
A girl got drunk and balled the dead
And i gave empty sermons to my head.
Cemetary, cool and quiet
Hate to leave your sacred lay
Dread the milky coming of the day.
[Instrumental]
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Aah, aah, aah, aah, aah
Aah, aah, aah, aaah!
Time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
Know that it would be untrue
You know that i would be a liar
If i was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire!
All right, all right!
All right!

| "Remember - in the end, nobody wins unless everybody wins." - Bruce Springsteen, Los Angeles 1982
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
In the day we sweat it out in the streets of a runaway american dream At night we ride through mansions of glory in suicide machines Sprung from cages out on highway 9, Chrome wheeled, fuel injected and steppin out over the line Baby this town rips the bones from your back Its a death trap, its a suicide rap We gotta get out while were young `cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run
Wendy let me in I wanna be your friend I want to guard your dreams and visions Just wrap your legs round these velvet rims And strap your hands across my engines Together we could break this trap Well run till we drop, baby well never go back Will you walk with me out on the wire `cause baby Im just a scared and lonely rider But I gotta find out how it feels I want to know if love is wild, girl I want to know if love is real
Beyond the palace hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard The girls comb their hair in rearview mirrors And the boys try to look so hard The amusement park rises bold and stark Kids are huddled on the beach in a mist I wanna die with you wendy on the streets tonight In an everlasting kiss
The highways jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive Everybodys out on the run tonight but theres no place left to hide Together wendy well live with the sadness Ill love you with all the madness in my soul Someday girl I dont know when were gonna get to that place Where we really want to go and well walk in the sun But till then tramps like us baby we were born to run
